What do you mean by CCTV Monitoring Control?
By this we mean how Knowio can arm and disarm a monitored CCTV system. The main focus of Knowio is to ensure that these systems are always in the correct state - armed (i.e. protected) when the site is empty and disamed when it is occupied.
How are the systems controlled?
There are a variety of different ways of doing this. The principal method is via direct intgegrations with major CCTV manufacturers.
What are the benefits of using an integration?
Firstly, no hardware is needed. So your company can deploy Knowio remotely and immediately across a portfolio of already monitored sites. Secondly is that a direct integration means that arming and disarming is done at source. This means that off is off. i.e. when the system is disarmed, it will not use any unncessary data or energy
Which integrations are completed?
As of March 2026, we have completed integrations with Davantis, Ajax, Ganz AI Box, Dahua and Hikvision.
Tell me more about the Hikvision integration?
With Hikvision we can control any system that is on a fixed IP address or a DNS. We are not currently able to control HikConnect products, but please contact us if this if off interest to your company.

I don't use any of the above products, what are my options?
Firstly, we are always keen to get more and more integrations completed, so contact us about the product in question. Secondly, ION is an ideal solution for any security system that has an I/O board on it. Finally, because of our abilty to send signals to Sentinel, Immix and Webeye, signals can be supressed in these systems when they are disarmed by Knowio.
Are there plans for more integrations?
Yes. We are always evaluating next sytems to integrate with. Contact us if you want to add yours to that list.
I am a CCTV Tower operator, and have several towers on one site, can I arm/disarm them all with one action?
Yes, you can control as many towers are you want with one single output, and can use one smart padlock to auto disarm or arm all these systems.
I have multiple different systems, can I control them all with one action ?
Yes, we can link all systems together, so you could link any number of systems together.
What are automations in Knowio?
Automations relate to the system being programmed to do other things after one initial event occurs. At a basic level for example, when I open the gate, disarm the CCTV system.
What are the benefit of automations?
The benefits are that the end users do not need to remember to do a number of additional tasks, and rather they happen based on the rule created.
What drives automations?
Currently, automations are limited to being triggered by one manual event happening, i.e. either one output being pressed or an input changing status. In additon, if you wish, you can ensure that htis automation will only run during certain time frames - i.e. you can choose which days of the week and during which times that automation will run
Can I do more than one thing from an action?
Yes! A trigger can effect other outputs in different ways. For example, you can have it so that when a gate opens it permanently disarms the CCTV but only temporarily switches on lights.
What are the actions available to me from a trigger?
You can do up to 6 things from a trigger to a latch style output: - Match the state of the triggering output (if the trigged is a latch) - Latch (arm/set) the triggered output - Temporarily latch (arm/set) the triggered output - Unlatch (Diarm) the triggered output the triggered output - Temporarily unatch (disarm/unset) the triggered output - Toggle the status of the triggered output
What happens if i choose a temporary latch or unlatch, and at the time of the automation, the system is already in that status?
This is an important quesion. The short answer is that the automation will run, so that thwn its finished, it will go into the sate expected when that temporary requirement ends. In terms of a real life example: You set up an automation so that the gate opening will temporarily disarm the CCTV system for 10 minutes. If, at the time of running, the CCTV system is already disarmed, 10 minutes after the gate being opened, it will arm.
Is there a limit to the number of automations I can carry out?
There is no physical limitation for these. You can even link different sites together, so that an output on one site, effects outputs on others.
